Ahead of the hospitality sector reopening we catch up with Peter Avis, General Manager at Galvin at Windows and 10 Degrees Bar, where we will be discussing how to keep your team away from “restaurant blues”, tactics to motivate and ready a team post COVID and capturing Peter’s words of wisdom for other restaurateurs and colleagues in the industry.

Peter Avis

Formerly working with Virgin Group and Babylon Restaurant and Bar at The Roof Gardens in Kensington, Peter brings over 20 years of experience with him. 

Born and raised in Liverpool, Peter helped launch several hotels and restaurants including overseeing the culinary direction of Sir Richard Branson’s British Virgin Islands, Necker and Moskito. Peter also managed the launch of Mont Rochelle restaurant in Cape Town and Mahali Mzuri in Kenya. 

Appointed Chairman of the UK Guild of Restaurant Services in 2010, Peter achieved the coveted Manager of the Year title at the Catey Awards in 2014. He also won UK Restaurant Manager of the Year in 2009.
