Martin-Christian Kent is an independent skills and labour market specialist. He has over 20 years’ experience of skills and labour market intelligence, working with employers, governments and their partners to better align the skills system to the current and future needs of the labour market.
Martin currently undertakes much of his work in West Africa, as well as in the Middle East, South Asia, Central America and across Europe on behalf of range of NGOs such as the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
He was previously the Research and Policy Director for People 1st, where he produced annual reviews on the hospitality and tourism workforce as well as research into the chef shortage, sector productivity and the impact of Brexit. He has also extensive experience of qualification and apprenticeship reform in the hospitality and tourism sector.
