Hospitality Team Member Level 2 Apprenticeship

Perfect for those team members who are just starting out in the hospitality career.

This role is very varied and although hospitality team members can choose to specialise in an area, they learn the skills to be adaptable and ready to support team members across the business, especially during busy periods.

The Hospitality Team Member apprenticeship supports a team member who is keen on developing fantastic hospitality skills and knowledge, such as recognising customer needs, knowing how to match them to the products and services of the business and working as part of a team to ensure that every customer feels welcome and looked after, whether they are eating in a restaurant, drinking cocktails in a bar, ordering room service or attending a business conference.

Hospitality team members will gain an understanding of what hospitality means; the culture of the industry and why delivering a customer experience to meet and exceed customer’s expectations is so important to your businesses.

The importance of hospitality behaviours such as personal conduct, being adaptable, using initiative and communicating with a diverse range of people will be embedded and will fast become second nature to the team member.

This apprenticeship also demonstrates the variety of job roles and progression opportunities that are available within the industry showing the progress in possible and therefore helping with staff retention.

  • This is a Level 2, 12 month programme plus a Gateway (EPA) of 2 months.

All our apprentices are mentored by our learning consultants who all have strong industry knowledge to make sure they are fully prepared for their End-Point Assessment (EPA).

  • Housekeeping

  • Concierge and guest services

  • Reception and Reservation

  • Conferences and banqueting  

How it works

  • Apprentices receive theory and practical training from an industry expert learning consultants

  • Experience industry focused events and masterclasses. 

  • Embed what they have learnt back into your workplace by experiencing the different areas of the business and collating evidence of their work. 

  • Their demonstration and evidence collecting of their work should take place as part of Off The Jobs Hours

Off The Job Hours are a must in any apprenticeship. The training is equivalent to 6 hours per week (or 20% of 40 hours).

This gives learners the time to undertake studies, activities, master-classes etc. during working hours.

These include, training activity relevant to the apprenticeship standard, learning a new skill or enhancing knowledge or behaviours, and that these taking place within your normal (contracted) hours.

To complete the Hospitality Team Member apprenticeship, the apprentice needs show evidence or pass a level 1 in English and Maths functional skills.
