Meet Zak Bentaleb, Apprentice Director at Umbrella Training

Before Joining Umbrella, Zak was a Barista at a cafe for 4 months at the age of 14 before moving into retail and becoming a sales assistant at JD Sports for 2 months when he was 16. This gave him an insight into one area of hospitality whilst simultaneously developing his customer-facing skills.

Zak then worked as an administrator for Umbrella training at the age of 16 and began his journey rising through the different job roles up to apprentice director. Along the way, he completed a level 3 business relations apprenticeship and worked as a business relations assistant for 2 years, facing our 5-star business partners in London before taking on the role of Onboarding Officer and signing the learners to their apprenticeships.

Zak has a keen interest in music, going to the gym, maintaining fitness and loves a good film.

He believes apprenticeships are the way forward for most young people who have finished school and are looking for work as they can continue their education as well as earn a living at the same time. This mantra applies to all people from all levels of society and all ages.

"Anyone who is looking for a career change or even a fresh start at something, an apprenticeship can help them develop into someone they never thought they would and not to mention - THERE IS NO DEBT!"
