The Umbrella Apprentice Exchange

In these unprecedented times, where the whole of the hospitality is struggling with the effect of the lock down and economic inactivity, apprentices are being made redundant and they are losing not just their jobs but also an opportunity to progress in the industry through formal apprenticeship.

Umbrella Training team are here to help.

The Umbrella Apprentice Exchange is an initiative started by Umbrella Training in collaboration with Caterer.com and their sister company Total Jobs. We are working together to ensure that apprentices who are more than halfway through their programme get a chance to complete the programme by being placed in alternative, complimentary jobs either in hospitality or other complimentary industries.

Working together we can ensure that hospitality talent that we have in our apprentices is not slipping through our fingers. In these difficult times, those businesses that remember their apprentices will be the ones that prosper in the future.

How it works

If you are an employer

  • Get involved with our initiative and let us know if you have vacancies to fill. We will provide you with CVs of the apprentices that are already part way through their apprenticeships and are amazing in what they do

  • Provide us with your vacancy information including a job description, ideal person specification and any other role requirements.

  • Contact us on 0333 577 2557 or email sam.coulstock@umbrellatraining.co.uk

If you are an apprentice

  • Contact your LDM and let them know about your status. We have LDMs helping with CV building and information, advice and guidance

  • You will need to send us your information including CV, cover letter and a photo

  •  We will be working with Caterer.com and other recruitment agencies to push your application forward and keep you on an apprenticeship
