Apprentice case study with Bethany Eaton of Cooling Castle Barn, Kent

Hi I am Beth, I work at Cooling Castle Barn and I am currently training to be a wedding coordinator.

I chose to do an apprenticeship because I believe it is a great stepping stone for my future career.

I also am a hands on learner, I find it easier to learn on the job rather than in a classroom, therefore, an apprenticeship is perfect for my style of learning.

I have been very lucky to have such a supportive employer.

They have given me so many opportunities that I will always be grateful for.

One of these opportunities has been my apprenticeship. When my employer asked if I wanted to do an apprenticeship with the company and umbrella I was so grateful because it made me feel like they have believe in me.

I am very thankful to Cooling Castle Barn for giving me the opportunity to do an apprenticeship with Umbrella.

I love my apprenticeship because its lead me to meet lots of new people from all walks of life.

I have had the oppurtunity to talk to people I would have never met if it wasnt for my apprenticeship with Umbrella.

This has really helped me to gain confidence at work. My learning consultant Freddie has been great too, he is always there to help with anything I need and has been really supportive throughout my whole apprenticeship!

I have definately found a new passion in helping coach junior members of staff.

I really enjoy running the weddings and being able to give the junior members of staff more responsibility.

My workplace and my apprenticeship have definately played a big role in me having the oppurtunity and confidence in being able to do this. My most memorable moment as an apprentice is being told by my manager that I was being put on a training course to become a wedding coordinator.

It felt like all my hard work as an apprentice and in the workplace was paying off and being recognised. It has always been my dream job to be a wedding coordinator and I am so thankful that my learning consultant pushed me to go for the role.

I am also so grateful to my workplace for giving me this amazing oppurtunity.

Umbrella has been really supportive throughout my apprenticeship. My learning consultant is always at the other end of the emails to help me with all my questions.

We have 121s regularly where we have the opportunity to have one to one help and this has been really helpful for any concerns or worrys I may have.

It also helps us to prepare for our end point assessment and my 121s with Freddie have definately made me feel more relaxed and at ease about the apprenticeship.
